As I mostly use Twitter these days it makes sense to have a twitter feed added to the homepage of arcjewellery.com. It's an easy way of keeping the latest news up front and clearly visible and I'm very pleased with how it now looks.

arc jewellery website update
As spring is well and truly here I thought it was about time my website had a bit of a spring clean so there have been a few fixes, updates and new editions carried out recently.
As I mostly use Twitter these days it makes sense to have a twitter feed added to the homepage of arcjewellery.com. It's an easy way of keeping the latest news up front and clearly visible and I'm very pleased with how it now looks.

Handmade sterling silver jewellery
What a busy few months we have had at ARC Jewellery!
Handmade sterling silver jewellery has been flying off the virtual shelves in my online shops. I've been so busy at the bench keeping up with orders and preparing for events that I haven't had the time to devote to my blog. I thought it was about time I rectified that.
So what's been happening...
I have acquired two new stockists this year, The Giggly Goat Gallery in Norwich and Mog and Crusoe Gallery in Wadebridge, Cornwall. A selection of my work including bangles, pendants and earrings is on display at each. Both are lovely galleries full of beautiful pieces of artwork and handmade creations.
This year's events kicked off with Art Unequalled in Bury St Edmunds in May, followed by The Etheldreda Fair in Ely and then the Chippenham Hall Summer Fete. We were lucky to have glorious weather and plenty of lovely customers and visitors to each event.
My next events will be Art Unequalled in Ely on 18/19 October, Ely Cathedral Christmas Fair 13-15 November and Swavesey Christmas Fair on 22nd November. Details of these events can be found on my website www.arcjewellery.co.uk or on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/arcjewellery
I am still busy restocking my virtual shelves on both my Folksy and Etsy shops. There you will find a selection of unique handmade sterling silver earrings, both stud and dangle earrings, bangles, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, silver rings made to order and a selection of enamelled pieces of jewellery that I have been working on recently.
Here is a snapshot of some of the items available in my Etsy shop. I am waiting for some hallmarked pieces to be returned from the London Assay office so there will be more pieces added just as soon as they arrive.
Don't forget you can keep up to date with events, new items of jewellery and promotions by following me on Twitter @arcjewellery or on Facebook

Art & Craft
Hello and a very happy new year!
I thought this would be a good time for me to share the work of some of the many artists and crafters that I have discovered over the past year. All of whom I have purchased work from, either as gifts for others or a little treat for myself.
One of the great things about selling at art & craft fairs is that I usually (thanks to my husband who looks after my stall) get the chance to do a bit of shopping for myself and I have met some wonderful people and started lovely collections of their work.
As I have shops on Folksy and Etsy I look at them on a daily basis and am always finding new things that would be ideal as gifts. The great thing about those sites is that I can have items delivered direct to friends and family around the globe and quite often with a little message included on my behalf.
So here is just a small selection of some of my favourite purchases from the past 12 months...

Folksy blog
Just a very quick one today as I'm busy doing Christmas orders but I just wanted to share this review that I wrote for the Folksy blog. It's about a recent Christmas craft fair in Ely Cathedral...

Guardian, New Look and Hedgehogs
Guardian...I was really trilled earlier this month to discover that the piece I had written for the Guardian's 'Marketing and PR excellence' small business showcase had been selected for publication on their website http://www.theguardian.com/small-business-network/2013/oct/10/showcase-marketing-pr-arc-jewellery
I must admit that the text was written very (very) late on the evening before our holiday. The deadline for entries was the following day (how had I managed to leave it so late!) when we would be on our travels so I had to get it done quickly. After several edits I was able to whittle it down to the required 250 words. I clicked the send button then forgot about it, so it was a lovely surprise to receive an email from the Guardian saying that my copy was to be included on their website. Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed that it'll be shortlisted for the next phase of the showcase.
For details of the forthcoming showcase categories and how to submit an entry yourself click here...

**************
New Look...as many of you know I have 3 online shops, www.arcjewellery.co.uk being the main one but I also sell through Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ARCJewellery) and Folksy (www.folksy.com/shops/ARCJewellery)
Folksy has recently made some changes to its shopfronts and to the way in which a shop keeper can manage stock and layout their store. At first I wasn't sure about this new look and there were a few teething problems (as there always is with new software) but after using it for a few days I am already beginning to see the benefits of the new design and I do like the clean, crisp appearance of my new Folksy shop.
***********
Hedgehogs...I wanted to share this little hedgehog with you. Isn't she lovely! Hedgehogs remind me of Autumn (my favourite time of year) and hibernating (one of my favourite things to do at this time of year) and this one (named Mabel) is available from Sara Carr on Folksy http://folksy.com/items/2080033-Mabel-Hedgehog-Lambswool-Plush-In-stock
