New year, New Website

I have been absent from here for a very (very) long time and for a number of reasons.  The main one being that I've been so busy expanding my business and making silver jewellery to complete customer orders and commissions.  I haven't always had time to tell you about it on here.  I have also been concentrating on other forms of social media and have built up a significant following in Twitter @ARCJewellery as well as trying out Instagram.  It's early days but I think my Instagram page is coming along quite nicely @arcjewelleryuk

One of the biggest changes to my online presence has been a complete overhaul of my website arcjewellery.co.uk.  It was a big job but a very satisfying task and I learnt some new web development skills along the way as well as useful information about SEO.  One of my favourite aspect of the new website is the gallery where I shall be posting photographs of my work (past and present) with links to where it can be purchased online.

Handmade Silver Stud Earrings ARC Jewellery

I get a lot of silver offcuts here at ARC Jewellery but luckily I have several designs where I can use recycled silver in the form of little pebbles.

The offcuts are melted into balls of various sizes and then either left ball shaped or flattened with a hammer and facetted (with a much smaller hammer) to give a lovely surface texture.  They are then added to earrings, rings, bangles and pendants and when polished they add a lovely sparkly detail to the design.

My most popular recycled silver items are these earrings.  The studs and dangles look great together in a row of piercings.  The studs are available in several sizes ranging from a very small 3mm (or smaller) up to 7mm diameter...or larger if you like.  As with most of my earrings they are also available as singles and are very popular as a unisex stud earring or as a first pair for newly pierced ears.

arc jewellery website update

As spring is well and truly here I thought it was about time my website had a bit of a spring clean so there have been a few fixes, updates and new editions carried out recently.

As I mostly use Twitter these days it makes sense to have a twitter feed added to the homepage of arcjewellery.com.  It's an easy way of keeping the latest news up front and clearly visible and I'm very pleased with how it now looks.

ARC Jewellery birthday celebrations

We will shortly be celebrating our 3rd birthday at ARC Jewellery and are getting creative to design something special to mark the occasion.  Not sure yet what form it will take, maybe a pendant or perhaps a bangle but one thing is for sure, I will be keeping this piece for myself as a little reminder of how far we have come and what we've achieved during the past few years.

It has been an amazing time and has gone incredibly quickly.  There have been a few hiccups along the way but thankfully there have been many more ups than downs so we have a lot to celebrate and look forward to.

Of course none of it would have been possible without all the help and support from our customers, stockists, friends, family and fellow creative folk, providing advice and encouragement along the way.  We will be raising our glasses of bubbly to each and every one of you and are looking forward to many more years of continued success for ARC Jewellery.

Handmade sterling silver jewellery

What a busy few months we have had at ARC Jewellery!

Handmade sterling silver jewellery has been flying off the virtual shelves in my online shops.  I've been so busy at the bench keeping up with orders and preparing for events that I haven't had the time to devote to my blog.  I thought it was about time I rectified that.

So what's been happening...

I have acquired two new stockists this year, The Giggly Goat Gallery in Norwich and Mog and Crusoe Gallery in Wadebridge, Cornwall.  A selection of my work including bangles, pendants and earrings is on display at each.  Both are lovely galleries full of beautiful pieces of artwork and handmade creations.

This year's events kicked off with Art Unequalled in Bury St Edmunds in May, followed by The Etheldreda Fair in Ely and then the Chippenham Hall Summer Fete.  We were lucky to have glorious weather and plenty of lovely customers and visitors to each event.

My next events will be Art Unequalled in Ely on 18/19 October, Ely Cathedral Christmas Fair 13-15 November and Swavesey Christmas Fair on 22nd November.  Details of these events can be found on my website www.arcjewellery.co.uk or on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/arcjewellery

I am still busy restocking my virtual shelves on both my Folksy and Etsy shops.  There you will find a selection of unique handmade sterling silver earrings, both stud and dangle earrings, bangles, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, silver rings made to order and a selection of enamelled pieces of jewellery that I have been working on recently.

Here is a snapshot of some of the items available in my Etsy shop.  I am waiting for some hallmarked pieces to be returned from the London Assay office so there will be more pieces added just as soon as they arrive.

Don't forget you can keep up to date with events, new items of jewellery and promotions by following me on Twitter @arcjewellery or on Facebook

Art & Craft

Hello and a very happy new year!

I thought this would be a good time for me to share the work of some of the many artists and crafters that I have discovered over the past year.  All of whom I have purchased work from, either as gifts for others or a little treat for myself.

One of the great things about selling at art & craft fairs is that I usually (thanks to my husband who looks after my stall) get the chance to do a bit of shopping for myself and I have met some wonderful people and started lovely collections of their work.

As I have shops on Folksy and Etsy I look at them on a daily basis and am always finding new things that would be ideal as gifts.  The great thing about those sites is that I can have items delivered direct to friends and family around the globe and quite often with a little message included on my behalf.

So here is just a small selection of some of my favourite purchases from the past 12 months...
